Now mind you I raised them back when and got into an ugly ordeal late at night in a trailer with some bull calves . Even as a calf they are larger than most of the deer here in Texas and in quite typical fashion they know how to rear up and horse stomp even when they are babies .
None the less , some folks went by me yesterday with 2 large elk racks in the back and the fist thing I thought was man was that a lot of hard work .
One of them was what looked to be a trophy class animal rack wise and that for sure made him what I would consider as more than to much work for a set of horns for sure.
Nice racks for sure, Packing out a bull elk 800# or more is a real job. I did it twice and said that was it for me, and it was. Great meat.
