What shell you using ? Is it the 17 mach 2 ? I shot squirrels into with my 17 and went back to a 22 cal . Would like to shoot my 17 for distance . Name: 20181022_180616 (1).jpg

I used the CCI v-max with the polymer tip with the 17 grain bullet. I need to go to a fmj bullet as the v-max did a little more damage than I like. I did some research and found a fmj bullet is made in 20 grains by a couple different companies. They claim that the fmj bullet is superb for small game and shooting furbearers with minimal meat and fur loss.

I have the marlin bolt in 17, head shots only.
Of course if your planning on squirrel head dumplings, your gonna be missing something.

I found the 17 to be a bit over kill. It's definitely head shot only.
