Default my friend's sons's first buck

I have hunted with a guy for some 25 years or so and we have grown kinda old in that time.
There was originally 5 of us that hunted together and now there is just him and I left .
All our other buds have since past away .
We sure had some good times over the years acting like a bunch of wild ones in the woods .
We even used to have field dressing races in camp at night ( I still hold the record at 1 minute 32 seconds from knife touching deer to done I might add )
And in the end some of the younger crowd followed our footsteps and some not so much .
Sure was a hoot taking kids into the woods I tell ya and now some bit of time later ,his youngest just started to hunt in the last couple of years .
He is now a young man though and not a kid and he reminds me of my oldest daughter in that they took a want to hunt like their dad's always have later in life .
Anyway he managed to get his first buck last weekend and I swear he was like a 10 year old in a candy store only in a young man's body.
let the good times roll by golly

Wow, 1 minute 32 seconds. I think you'd have to add a half hour to that for me. doh - And it;s been so long since I've done one, might have to add an hour depending on how cold it was, my FL fingers wouldn't be very nimble anymore.

That is a great first deer. You guys are great at field dressing. I was hunting down there and shot a cull buck. Roy jumped out and I started out when his dad said just stay with me, he will get it. It wasn't more that a couple of minutes till I felt the truck shake when it was thrown in.

I was in my fifty range when we raced on who could clean one the fastest . the other old boy used a puma and I used a buck and we always bantered about who was faster and what knife was better .
I use a different knife now and don't move quite as fast as I did at 50 ,but to be sure I come from a line of knife handy gentlemen , my dad could carve stuff out of wood you couldn't believe . He did balls inside cages and chains and all sorts of mind bending wood carving .My pappy (his dad) made knives that were just beautiful and quite nice .
I am naked without a knife and carry so many in my truck it isn't funny to this day . I about went to a Mexican jail back when you could carry a knife on a plane when the Mexican authorities tried to confiscate one on my trip back home from there . It was just a shrade but it was Skoal special edition you couldn't just go out and buy and some real large fella took it from me at a security check and put it in his pocket and laughed at me .
I created quite an international incident and they brung the guys in the black suits out to keep me calm and explain that I could have my knife back as long as I played by "their" rules
of course my family members were like stop it before you get thrown in a Mexican prison forever , its just a knife and I was like NO I aint , that boy aint keeping my knife and laughing at me in the process no matter the outcome .
AND guess who got his knife back and got a plane ride back home
