    Default It's been a grind

I have really hunted hard this year and just haven't seen the bigger bucks this year. I do have a few more weeks of rutting action but it's coming to a close. I finally contacted with a small 8point on public land last week and a nice eating size sow the week before. Maybe I'll have some luck the next week or so. Name: 20191219_085027.jpg

Well done! It’s been a grind for me. I did get a doe during our six days we can take does during gun season.

That'll be a good eating buck and nice pork chops.

Hunting season wore me down for years. I finally figured out a way to keep it from doing that. I quit! I chased em hard for 25 years. Where I hunt the deer population got so low I rarely saw deer for the past several years. It got real boring and Brock got burned out not seeing deer, so we just fish now.

Great harvest, no porkers up here near me but I sure would not pass one up. Congratulations!

No one is seeing any big bucks -150 or better- here either, even behind the levee.I saw one 201 from a place that wouldn't have thought had a 130, so you never know.

That buck is only about 85inches but on public land it's a nice one. We just don't have the rich soil to grow big buck. Now a 130 isn't out of the question but there few and far between
