I'll probably let my son and his girlyfriend take him out, or the big wide 6 point that's coming there too. We'll have deer meat.

he is freshening a scrape . it isn't necessarily "his" scrape . several bucks will often visit the same scrape as well as does .
this time of year its about who is who and who is in the area .
I often see lots of different bucks visiting the same scrape and see does check the scrape as well .

Set your camera to video. Scrapes are a lot of fun and you learn what is in your area.
I have an old video of a spike buck working a scrape and peeing what looks like a gallon over his tarsal glands. The big bucks seem to work the scrapes faster and move on. Doe will stop and pee sometimes too.
Sometime they also make grunts and other sounds. I make a mock scrape to get the bucks working them in sight of most of my stands.

I have even seen bucks show up together in a group and take turns on a scrape and the "licking" branch that is often right above them .
and in that case all 6 of them were large bucks with 3 of them being in the mature I would kill you in deer season category .
I was fall crappie ketchn that day and I saw 3 does in the distance and told my wife to look at them while standing up in my pick up truck bed with my Nikon binoculars . she says WOW look at the horns …..? I was like what ? she says the one in the bushes has a big rack ….I was like gimme them spex back please mam ….
the smallest one in the group as a 3.5 year old 8 point btw .
the does went by the scrape first and the bucks followed them in single file out of the tree line to a lone oak in the field .
