    Default A pretty kitty

not much of great interest on the cards this week to speak of.
deer are on the acorns and mostly if not totally nocturnal
hogs are for sure full nocturnal
but I did get a couple of shots of a pretty kitty just as it left the feed area in the woods .
don't know why I didn't get a few better photos but one does show its mighty fine patterns

Good size one to. I've killed a few of them but mostly let them walk. I have one on the wall but probably won't shoot one again unless it is a big one.

I whacked a few in my day , maybe a total of 4 or more and my last encounter a few years ago one walked up so close I could have touched it , it stood right under my propped up gun barrel for a few seconds. I lost interest in taking them back when about 15 years or so ago .that all said that one has my eye pelt wise . you don't see many with those ocelot markings for sure .
I think that's the third one we know of my place but am not sure . one is much larger and one much smaller , but the smaller one might be the same kitty just grown up a bit more .the smaller one had some kind of something strange going on its markings as well .
the shame is it is a predator and I am supposed to control predators and if they were not so darn hard on the turkey and even fawns I might just say live and let live .
my bud that sits that blind frequently wont be so kind hearted though and he has specific instructions not to let any predators or hogs pass thru .

Around here they tend to eat rabbits and smaller things mostly. They get a few Turkeys but seem the be hardest on the rabbits. I'm sure it's different everywhere to

When my son was 12 -13 we were riding down a logging road on the club and a cat ran out in the road.I hit the brakes and shut off the Bronco opened the door and got the crosshairs on him. Just as had committed the trigger the cat fell and I shot over him. My son looked at me and said"What did you shoot for." I said just shut up and go get the cat. Good shot by the way. I got it mounted for him and he still has it in his office today.

I would bet that's so here as well and I know from past experiences they love squirrels . My buds dad took one years ago that stalked up on him during turkey season while he was calling . biggest one I ever seen at 53 lbs .
