    I got my grandfather's 20 ga. 870 Wingmaster he bought new in early 1951. It has a six digit serial number and a round grooved forearm. Every part is machined and none are stamped. It is built like a tank. In 1976, my stupid older brother shot slugs through it and bulged the barrel right at the choke & ruined the pattern. Two years ago I had the end of the barrel cut off & threaded for Remington choke tubes. It is great to have it in service again.

    I love the 16. Not as much kick. I think a lot of older guys are going to 16 or 20 gauge. I’ve never had a problem finding ammo. Cabelas ha it buy the case in a few different shot sizes at a fair price
