Default Great stuff to keep ticks off

Use to use Off with deet while mushroom hunting, would routinely have 1-4 ticks on me. Started using this product, Permetrin with no ticks so far. 24oz Sawyer Permethrin Clothing Insect Tick Chigger Repellent Trigger Spray Camp 645729862135 | eBay

Great stuff! I used it turkey hunting and no ticks. Got mine at Wal-Mart.

I make my own by taking 1 teaspoon of Permethrin in a quart of water and put it in a spray bottle. Its a whole lot cheaper than ready mix plus I use it to spray my yard for ticks and chiggers. I use 2 ounces of Permethrin per gallon of water in a pump up sprayer.

You would still need bug spray for your skin, because you are not to apply this directly to skin

Where do you get your Permethrin from?

I spray my yard as well and don't have fleas, ticks or fire ants. Don't have to give the dog flea and tick treatment. No bugs in the house is a plus too.

You can get permethrin from a farm and garden store, tractor supply, Atwood’s, local co op etc. if you go to Home Depot or Lowe’s you will have to read the labels on the pesticides as the staff member may not know what it is. Being from Iowa I would go to local Co op.

Same here, been mixing it and using it on clothes and around yard and porch, for years. A lot cheaper and works great. Get it at any farm or feed store.

Great stuff used properly. I've used it for years, but BEWARE, wet product will make dogs sick, and will kill cats ! At least that's what I've read.
