My youngest son is a avid Canada goose/duck hunter...Crockpot And jerky are the two words used most at my house hold during water fowl season.
When I came in for dinner yesterday there were 8 boxes of 12ga 3" BB on the counter, and his A5 Browning with a new magazine tube extender.....I asked him what's up? Well I guess he got invited to go spring snow goose hunting in ND/SD with some friends....Oboy this should be Intresting!

Get yourself a good meat grinder and grind those breasts up. I'll mix that with some fatty beef like 70% lean and make some really excellent burgers.

I'll give that a try, when we make jerky we always grind/cannon and use hamburger in the the mix 3/4 goose 1/4 burger.

That sounds like a good ratio.

Best you get with someone and learn the ropes of hunting before you get a gun and hurt yourself or someone else. You can google almost anything about hunting and what type of birds are better than others and their flyways. You have to perfect your skill about hunting and safety. Check out your DNR and see if they offer any classes for hunting and safety. I know they have course's for youths to learn from here in SC. They even offer women classes on hunting and fishing. Mississippi flyway is a pretty darn good area to be in! Good luck

On a side note, protect your hearing. For 30 years I shot 2500 to 3000 shells a year in a duck blind and that many more in the dove field. On top of that 1000 rounds of rifle and pistol shells a year, all without hearing protection, except when I was sighting in a rifle.
Now my ears ring all the time and I can't hear thunder. I had a big red S on my chest in those days and now it is a lite pink.
    Just something to consider.

If you are in the delta there will be ducks. Especially if it freezes up north. I hunted north of Glendora for yrs. some of the most fun I ever had. Things were different in those days. MS had a lot more ducks, and Duck Dynasty and YouTube hadn’t ruined Duck hunting yet. But the answer is yes. You can kill ducks in your state.

First thing you need to realize is ducks fall under federal laws and guidelines. You must have a federal stamp, state stamp, and steel shot. Just shooting any ducks that come by without knowing what you're killing, can get you in trouble big time. They are limits on every duck that flies. Best thing for you to do is find someone that hunts ducks, listen and learn.

Where are you in Mississippi? That will make a lot of difference. As said, northwest of Jackson to Memphis is going to be better, east of 55 to the coast not so much, with exceptions. Probably have better luck in general dove hunting, less expensive, less trouble, more success/shooting for a beginner. Duck hunting is the greatest and worst thing in the world one day removed.
