    Default Trespassers and Poachers

Well I think it’s safe to bet many of you here on this forum have had issues with either trespassers stealing your equipment or somebody poaching deer off your land or lease. I am no exception, have leased the same ground for several years and it never fails something always turns up missing. Last year couple tree stands and a few cameras, this year same thing. After I decided what I harvested was good enough for my freezer ( 1 doe) but not the end of deer season, started to see tracks in the field that didn’t belong to me! I started thinking people were hunting and poaching my lease because my truck was not there. I decided enough was enough and put a new plan in action. I was gonna start a new Hunting season for trespassers and poachers. I spoke with the local sheriff department about what could be done only to learn trespassing is only a misdemeanor ticket, but if I could catch them stealing that would be a felony. So off to amazon I went, ordered 10 new cameras, and 5 fake cameras. I am using the fake cameras as bait or trap to catch video on two different cameras watching the bait. I’ve taken to concealing my new cameras by hot gluing real tree bark to them, and I must they are turning out really nice! I plan on keeping you guys up to date as to what happens, thought you may find some interest!

Hope you catch all those involved the first time. Surprised that “armed trespass “ is such a minor offense.

I hope your trespass laws are more serious than the judges believe it is here. A friend that owns one hunting club, owns land in 2 others, as well as farms 7,000 acres just said that it is not worth trying to get trespasser convicted. He said the judges don't think it is a big deal and throws it out.
