Default Ole Turkey foot is back !

Not a bird chirping , just a steady north wind in my face for 1.5 hours and then at 5 pm sharp here they come ….just a running and playing and having fun . 4 does first and then 2 more and then here he comes !
Ole Turkey foot horn comes a running in as well ! Looks none the worse for the wear it seems and has been gone from the camera and me for 90 days . Never ceases to surprise me when a buck you haven't seen in a good while shows back up .
Then 7 more does come up to the fence and don't come in . They wander and meander and look at the other deer eating the spread corn and slowly come across fence and follow the far wood line at about an inch an hour speed .
They never did come to the corn and eventually the ones on the corn followed them to the west into the setting sun .
First one to leave the scene before the other 7 does showed up was turkey foot . Everyone was headed west with a purpose and I am to assume one of the farmers a mile or so west has a winter grain field planted .
Anyway still no big horn KABOOM took place and I waited till last light thinking surely a grandpa was following them real slowly , but I never saw him if he was ...
maybe next time I will sit on our place down the road
.last photo of him will better explain why I call him turkey foot horn…..

That’s a pretty buck, for sure. He looks young to me, like maybe 3? Still has the rise at the back of the belly and average neck. Sure enough looks good though.

Nice seeing a great looking buck on the hoof and not seeing the next picture of him laying across the tailgate of a truck with it's tongue hanging out..thanks for the pics and letting him walk...

Those are some great pictures of your local deer herd and I too admire your restraint as a sportsman and I'm happy that you are not a trigger happy member of the body count hunt club like so many nowadays seem to be. I used to be an avid deer hunter... but once I started taking pictures of them that became enough for me... but for taking a few does every year for the meat.

That's a great buck. Most places that's a shooter. Must be nice to let a buck like that walk. Hopefully you'll see him next year and he will blow up even bigger. Here in Alabama there's few places they get big. I let most smaller deer go but a big 6 or a 8point you better shoot, you're not going to see many. For a deer to get that size here it takes 5yrs plus and by that time he is 99% nocturne.

I think he is 4 but I am never sure , to be sure the guys next to me this year are laying lead on them like crazy . I am surprised one with a rack that large is even still around as I am pretty sure the new crew that came in this year are over harvesting right next to me where he came from .
trigger happy bunch with big 4 wheelers and big guns and I bet a want to one up each other ….nice mix
sure has made my final season there a bust for a large buck and to be sure I hear tell from the man across the river the same reports .
None of our 5 hunters on the surrounding 700 acres plus has even seen a real big buck since late summer and no body harvested any big bucks this year ….we normally get at least 3 real nice bucks out of that area .
to be so full of deer you cant imagine and to be managed so well for so long its hard to imagine but true
