Default Finally meat for the freezer

Went and sat yesterday morning knowing the wind was probably going to affect their movement but still wanted to be in the stand, saw nothing so ate lunch and went to afternoon sit and didn’t see anything until 4:50 took a decent doe. Another long day but paid off. Still haven’t seen a set of horns this year. Name: IMG_3485.jpg

Never could eat those horns anyway and the older they are the tougher the meat. Now that's going to be some good eating there.
Be safe and good luck fishing

Yep all bucks on camera been at night. And yeah I will take another doe before rut starts here and then hopefully see some horns on into mid December. Weird year last year first rut wasn’t long then last week of season it was on full blown.

Excellent harvest, this cold weather has them moving here. I was sick during our rut and still have a nagging cough when I get out in the cold air. Keep after them!!

Stan I understand the crud I’ve had the same thing cough still hanging around and slips up on me in the stand sometimes. Rut in north Alabama should be heating up. Not quite yet down where I hunt in Lamar county. I did walk across a smell of a hot doe yesterday and saw tracks where it looked like he was chasing her. I had to make sure my backpack didn’t have a bottle leaking in it I have never smelled that scent that strong, I’ve smelled it from a down hot doe but never a live one

ET that was the first I had seen this year so I know the feeling I was beginning to think I was going to have one of those years but time in the woods is the only fix for it.
