Default What in the heck is this yawl ?

So I am easing along to do a little sit on our place and I come up on this here thick vine with these here banana pepper looking fruits on it ? I have not a clue what in the heck this is , I have been in the woods a fair amount in this part of the world and have for sure never seen these before ? Do tell if you know what they are , I have no idea .
The ranch has been busy and lots of stuff on the cameras , of course if you go sit you wont see them most of the time but to be sure they are there when we aint ...
Seems the road that I travel they travel and it looks like a predator or 3 are eating here and there a few things and I got someone's what think is a beagle looking dog on camera one day.
some of the deer we saw in the summer have returned and the 2 8 points are hanging around together again on our place .
I also did a little sit on the lease and saw 5 does and about 25 hogs , the does were really nervous and the hogs went by to fast and to far away to get off a decent shot . Only visited both places for a short time as we were just passing thru from a thanksgiving food festival down at my kiddos in laws place about 45 minutes past ours and spent the night there . Made a few hog areas for my bud to hunt over and noticed a few things of interest on camera as well …..one of my older bucks has a bad attitude and some of the younger ones just want to play and eat , I wish I could explain he aint in the mood ,but he is telling them for me .
    enjoy the photos and ...
stay tuned and hope you had a good thanksgiving
p.s. note mrs bad attitude tusky girl piggy , I think she got some Russian in her

We have a similar vine that crawls up bushes and trees up here, but it has a rounder bulb, we call it prickly pear.

I think you were trying for mirliton. They are more pear shaped and rounded on the bottom. Good eating and they are eaten a lot in Louisiana.
