    Catfish devour Persimmons that fall in the water. Used them as trotline bait for decades.

    ketchn, if you plant some, don't cut down the ones that don't produce fruit. There are male and female persimmon trees.

    I'm lucky to have several persimmon trees on my property.For anyone wanting to plant the seeds,they must go through the stratification process in order to sprout,the sooner they go through it the sooner they sprout.If you gather persimmon for consumption,be sure to plant the seeds soon as possible.You can also place the seeds in your freezer,wrapped in paper towels,and placed in a Baggie,in the spring plant them in strategic locations

    And don't forget that persimmon tree seeds predict the severity of the winter to come.

    Looks like it's gonna be a rough winter in Arkansas...

    I have no doubt that persimmon seeds are absolutely as accurate as weathermen. I give it a 50% chance of being right. It'll either be a cold winter or it won't. LOL
