This will be my 35th season hunting deer and my third year hunting deer with a muzzleloader. I was lucky enough to get this guy two seasons back. I got a couple bucks last year with a center fire rifle, but no deer with the muzzleloader. I hope to get one like him or bigger in the morning.

Anybody else going this weekend? It's the season opener for muzzleloaders here in TN.

    Have a great season, JayW

Good luck. Never realized how much I would enjoy muzzle until I bought a CVS in-line about 15yrs. ago. Even when I don’t make a muzzleloader season hunt, I’ll sometimes carry it tandem, during modern gun, to my stand. Have harvested a couple of hogs with it doing that.
Pass the "Sportsman Baton" on before you're gone, promote values for others to hunt and fish upon.

ML hunting was my favorite for years. MS.went to a primitive season using single shot breakdown rifles as well as muzzle loaders . While metal shells are nice no bucks are allowed during the first season . Rather than becoming an outlaw I wait till first gun season to go . My primitive weapon is a CVA Elite stalker chambered in the marlin 444 topped with a 3x9x40 Nikon . Bucks are allowed the second season .

    Thanks guys.

I use a CVA Optima break action inline muzzleloader with 110 grains of Blackhorn 209 to push a 250gr. T/C Shockwave in a sabot. It works for me and does a good job. I did not get a buck this year but I did take this nice doe for the freezer. Have a great fall, JayW

No. The muzzleloader season goes until Friday and the regular rifle season starts and goes until the first week of January. We have a two buck limit here in TN and can get several does depending on what hunt unit in which you harvest them.

Nice Buck... I've hunted with a muzzleloader for the last 20 yrs or so, only thing I hunt with other then a recurve or compound..do hunt squirrels with a .32 or .36 caliber muzzy or air rifles. They legalized certain hi powered rifles here in Indiana but have no desire to use them and really no need for them as most shots are less then 100 yds.
Our gun season starts the 17th and will be using muzzleloader.
