Bdc do not work. They will get you close but that is all. Each bullet, each weight, each barrel, each action all shoot differently. Don't belive me come to my house. I've got 2 identical Brownings in 7 mag with the same scope and all. My handloads and we'll put it over the chronograph and shoot out to 400 yards. I'll promise you we'll shoot two different groups and two different velocities. It's a great concept and it will get you real close but it is not sighting in your rifle. Lead down range is the only way to make it right.

I understand, I just don't like it when people rely on these kind of "gimmicks" for lack of a better word, for sighting in and shooting deer. We owe it to the deer for a quick and clean dispatch. Nothing will ever take the place of lead down range is all that I wanted to convey. They are very good for getting on paper and 2 shot zeros.

I would bet the app is more accurate than your average shooter. Average guy out there shooting 500 yds, stringing bullets all over paper w an unknown crosswind, or the app? Most deer hunters are proficient in long range shooting, yet I would bet a lot (not all) of them would take the shot.
It is very close on my 6.5.

I was very skeptical about its application but when you consider how much bad press it would generate if it was not decent would a name like Nikon put their sales in jeopardy ? There are many who go by ballistic charts for a certain bullet fired from a 24 inch barrel And expect their 20 inch carbine to produce the same . This person will really be helped with the Bdc system . Personally I own "1" now with BDC reticle. A Leopold 3x9 x42 is the normal standard for a closet gun as I call them (get used very little). Ended up with scope to be used at the most a couple times a year . Our so called primitive seasons allow no bucks first season and by second season I normally would only be horn hunting so 139.00 appealed to me as a good non expensive model, if it will stay set on the 444 marlin . Do not really need or use the mill dots as 200 yds would be the longest I would try . Most of my shots are 50-75 yd . in heavy brush on a river system .
