Default first time deer hunting in a couple of years

This past week end I got to go bow hunting. I still can't get in a tree stand but I found a nice place to set up my blind.

I arrived just a tad before daylight, unzipped my blind door, got in my seat, closed it, and readied my bow. Man was I excited. Nice weather, thermos of hot coffee, snacks, sandwiches, wind blowing in my face, and a great day for hunting. Set for the whole day. Excitement was an understate. As I watched the sun open the sky and fill the forest with much needed light. I really felt good. After so much time absent of hunting I felt like a kid with a new toy. Not an animal came by within 30 yards for the first hour. Didn't matter, the whole day was all for me. About 2 pm there's a noise directly in front of me in a little wooded patch. As I eagerly awaited the sight of a deer, a beautiful 8 point buck stepped out just meandering around. I ranged him at 45 yards. Out of range for me. As he approached my blind the sun gleaned on his rack. My heart was beating so loud. 35 yards and still closing. 30 yards. I knocked an arrow, guessed when he got 25 yards. I drew my bow, sighted the spot I wanted the shaft to hit. I took a deep breath slowly let it slowly out and let the arrow fly. Man I was so excited. Just at that time, my wife woke me up for breakfast.

That's one of my favorite deer time jokes. Hope it made you laugh a little.
