Ok, so I am back in the old climbing stand this afternoon with a favorable NNW wind hitting me in the face. I see the replies are unanimous and after I though more about it I should have taken the shot. I have hunted this field for about 20 years and have only seen two other coyotes. Both sitings were late in the season, December, so never this early. Maybe these vermin are why the deer are not visiting the pear trees like they normally do. Seat time in the stand will tell.
