The Remington core-Lokt 150's shot good groups with my Savage .308 model 11.Tried a box of Hornady American Whitetail 150's they shoot a little tighter than the core-lokts,so I will shoot those this deer season.Get them at Academy for $21.99 a box.

Since I'm shooting in the woods, not in the open, I'm using a 165 grain. I went with Fiocchi gameking.

Pass the "Sportsman Baton" on before you're gone, promote values for others to hunt and fish upon.

I'm lucky,my son is a fanatic for reloading,by the time he test the several different loads there is no doubt it is the best loaded for each gun.My point is every gun is different, every load may shoot diff depending on the gun,it all depends on how far your willing to experiment.Recently he finished building a 243 for long range accuracy, this gun and load consistently hit a 10" target at 1000 yards,( he's not satisfied )
His load for this is 47.7 grain of realoader 26, with a 105 grain Berger VLD,yet it's not the best load for hunting.Several loads have been mentioned for hunting already, just remember, you want accuracy and a bullet that delivers maximum shock, with that you can't go wrong.

I have always been a Winchester shell man. If planning shooting a long distance I would go with the 150. I used 180 grain has always been good to me.
