    Default humans spook em ....

or at least that's what I think I am seeing . the hogs leave the place for about 3 or 4 days every time we set foot on the place .
and the deer numbers seem less lately as well . I am not sure if its the hogs or the humans on the deer , but to be sure there is less activity on hogs after a visit .
here are a few photos from the last week and nothing really new to report
other than several bucks have shed velvet and I did see 2 touching racks in one photo
and we got some RAIN !
hogs sure are rooting it up around the feeders
coon brung its young one in as well

It's probably those hogs causing fewer deer sighting around the feeders. They do not hang around as much when those hogs show up.We have been lucky so far no hogs yet,but have black bear and I am not happy about that.
I do not feed deer but a guy about a mile from me said the Bears tore up a couple feeders and also a box blind deer stand.

Yeah I kind of think the hogs are making the deer a bit shy ....
I do think if we can get them hogs in the truck they will eat well though ....
Seems the more days I ain’t there the braver the hogs get ....after a few days of visits in the wee light
And no humans ...they go into a daylight visit program ...
Did you notice btw the time on the deer in the field photo ? Lunch time on a cloudy day ...
I bet because that is where there was still corn , that feeder gets lots less activity it seems

I agree the pigs will make the deer go elsewhere. Man that's a fat trash panda

It might not work now that the hogs know the feeder is there but you can put hog panels (like cow panels but not as tall) around the feeder to keep the hogs out of the corn. Deer jump the fence to get in and out.

You may be scaring the hogs away or they may only swing through your place every so often anyway. I don’t know anything about “dry land” hogs but the ones in SE AL are constantly on the move. Humans don’t scare these over here off. Shooting them doesn’t really scare these off. I’ve killed hogs in the same field, 3 days in a row. They’ll hit a place for a month then move and may stay gone for a few weeks or a few months. It’s like they move in a big circle.

The hogs really seem to back off after a visit to me and return a few days after my most recent visit .
But I do know in some spots they hang better than others and in some spots they roam a lot .
One thing for certain hunting there is going to be a challenge until we untrain the game in that woodlot

Why are they spooking after you have been there? Are being seanted or seen? I ask this to learn how to prevent it from happening to me.
