Default are you a tracker ?

I aint but then again I am . So we sneak into our little honey hole real early Friday am . we come in with the headlights off and real slow and park in a deep depression well before the woodlot . we tip toe to our locations and I put my bud up in the tree stand at the lastest known location of the pork counter at the meat market . I ease into my tree stand and the wait begins …….
About 5 minutes before his feeder goes off KABOOM from his location ! then in a minute or 2 KABOOM again from his location ...then a few more seconds and KABOOM AGAIN ?
I was like what the heck is he doing ? we agreed to only whack 2 smaller hogs because even though its a huge ice chest that is all the room I have in it with the blocks of ice I brought to keep em chilled .
so I ease down kinda sneaky to the truck and ease back into to where he is expecting to load up a few hogs . I get there and say where are they and how many ? that's a bunch a shooting bro ...AND HE SAID I DIDNT SHOOT !
I was like bs bro I know from where I sit it was you and there aint no one for miles and miles back in this area . he says no sir it was your neighbor over there and points to my south fence ? I said no way bro there aint no hunting over there its a Bermuda pasture and he says lets go see as he aint never been on the place in daylight .
we get over to the corner fence and he says ….then they have to have been in YOUR WOODS !he said one bullet zinged off something and went right by him !!so we sneak into the woods and sure enough ….
the ole low whistle comes from the under brush and we both look at each other and go HOLY you know what POACHERS in the woods !well we tried to ketch em and circled back around behind them and I even got them to whistle back to me a few times but to be sure they was laying low and wouldn't budge .
so after they clammed up knowing I was also whistling to them I yelled real loud I knew they were in MY woods trespassing and if they didn't show themselves I would sick the game warden on them .
long story short I never figured out exactly what neighbor is doing it ,but to be sure one of them is and now I am HOT as heck about it .
so I went back and got serious about tracking and trying to figure out where they came in at and cant find definitive tracks from humans ? I did put up several signs along to the 2 fences I suspect might be the area they came in at and did find some suspicious tracks that I am thinking are likely a lion . saw a bobcat on the game camera and quite few less hogs and found the bobcats tracks and lots and lots and LOTS of other tracks ….but no humans I can say for sure was them and not us looking for them ?
the locals and game warden are kinda who cares about the whole thing and one even said well they are killing hogs and that's a good thing right ? I said yeah I suppose so …
AS LONG AS IT AINT ON MY PLACE !!!
note first photo ...it has no reference boot beside it but its easily the size of a 100 plus lb dog ….
p.s. the game wareden says wow you got an island of thick woods out in a bunch of pastures , probably loaded with deer and I said yep and he said a great deer hunting spot for sure and I said yep and he said ...the local poachers know it as well I bet !

Sad to here that, poachers really piss me off! If the guy could hit anything in 3 shots I'm guessing in a few days you should be able to smell some rotting pork....might narrow down the area they were in.

Trespassers can be a problem.I setup cameras for deer and have caught a man running rabbit dogs, and even riding his 4 wheeler on our land.Well he looked right at a camera Got a good picture of him walking on the pipeline.Have not seen him since.Found out where he lives and have evidence,if he's seen on the land again will send him a trespassing notice.

Nine times outta ten in our neck of the woods, the poachers are not locals.I watched two fellows messing around and in one of my shooting houses,At the time I was working shift work, and they thought they had my schedule figured out.....NOT!
I got in front of where the were going, and stepped outta the brush as they approached.I questioned them, they pulled the old stand by," We thought we were on so in so's land.I asked them if they had been in my hunting stand, the both denied even seeing one. After repeated attempts to get a confession,I pulled my old stand by.I took an SD card from a trail cam outta my pocket, and ask if they understood what it was.
Funny how the thought of having them on a trailcam yanked a confession right outta them, after a serious conversation about turning them in,they swiftly departed never to return again. The moral to my story is,always carry an SD card in your pocket......(even if it's empty )

Thieves, liars, trespassers. Don't like any of them.
