the area of Texas it is in is basically the middle of nowhere
but it lies inside of Comanche county near the central part of the state
I am heading out to set up cameras and get the feeders to run if I can later today
I didn't see any acorns and I didn't look close on the pecan trees but will today
thanks for the reads and nice comments yawl
I think it will be a few weeks before we get back out there as we have other plans that will keep us from visiting there
hopefully the SD cards will be loaded with a few good photos upon our return
we will only hunt it VERY lightly as I have a really nice spot to hunt a few miles away already
sure will be nice to invite a friend or take the family when I want to though .
hopefully within a few months I will have a structure on it so we have a spot to hang around on when we visit
I aint sure about that part though as we are not made of money

its 45 acres of a dense wooded island isolated 1/2 mile off the county dirt road in a farming and dairy type of surrounding area
,am having a terrible time getting photos from my phone to the site here via my computer though as I somehow lost my Bluetooth connection between the 2 and cant seem to get it back
its for sure game rich and I was amazed at the visit yesterday where I tossed a handful of corn out by a feeder Friday and sunday afternoon it looked like a deer barn dance took place there where there wasn't a track Friday .
will try to load up a few photos later ...

Thats plenty land for low pressure hunting. Brother in law had 50 acres with only about 20 of that wooded on the perimeter behind a pond with ag fields all around. We killed a pile of deer off that chunk of land.

And it will be your very own hideaway. For a spell I would monitor the cameras (well hidden) to see what roams the area. Nothing like losing cameras to trespassers. Speaking from first hand knowledge. Purple paint on T-posts are supposed to deter trespassers. I would encourage enforcing dominance of my property by having a game wardens phone number in my cell phone. Don't hesitate to use it. Some folks just have to be shown you mean business. Congrats to you and your family. Looking for rain soon.

Yes sir , I try to see the good in folks, but as we all know there are some that just ain’t . We did put up a brand new NO trespassing sign right off the bat with my number on it on the front fence . The cameras were inexpensive ones but I will be about on fire if anyone takes one for sure .
Looks to be left alone to me as it’s so far off the public dirt road it would be a big deal to sneak in one and out , lots of open land around it . But to be sure I will not be very friendly to anyone that trespasses and or steals things .
Pretty isolated area , one neighbor I know of about 500 yards away and no others for a long long way , will for sure fix it to where it’s as secure as possible ...

Good to hear the place has new owners. I know the wildlife will appreciate anything you do in their favor. I too will be looking forward to see your work and harvest from your new dream!
    Congratulations!
