    Default Hog Mania in Ms

About a month ago my brothers calls me at 6 am, yeah I'm asleep. Says you want a wild hog, I say sure you got one. He tells me a friend of his has one they caught in trap and needs to give it away being he doesn't have time to mess with it. Ok, where's it at. So he gives me directions, half asleep of course. He tells me I need to hurry and where to meet him. I'm thinking ok this is a blessing for sure. Off I go in my house shorts and sandals. Feller is where he said he'd be. I ask him you need me to back up so we can load hog. He gives me one of those yeah right looks. Says follow me to the camp. Ok, so hog is at camp. We get there and tells me we gotta take 4 wheeler to get hog. Looks at me and says, you got any rubber boots. No I say, not with me. He shrugs and says ok. We load up on 4 wheeler and off we go down the dirt road about 4 miles or so. He takes a left into woods. I'm wondering, well maybe he shot it in woods and just needs help to load. We got way back in woods and turn into old grass patch. He says quiet excited, man there are 2 of them. I look and there at the end is a big pig trap with 2 hogs running around. well about that time 2 other fellers pull up in a side by side. Big boy jumps off with a rifle, walks up and shoots 2 in pen. There was a third but cage had fallen on it and crippled it up so he shot it too. Other feller ok boys there's your hogs. Drag them out so we can take a picture for report. This was a hog pen with ankle deep mud and yep it smelled like a pig pen. So there I go with shorts and sandals into the mud. Shoes lasted about a minute before they were on my ankles. Finally got them off and so now I'm bare foot in the pen. I'm sure they thought I was a fool for what I had on. Mud everywhere on me and smelly.Anyway we got them out of pen and pictures taken. Other 2 fellers said good by they were off to work. I asked my partner, how we going to get these pigs out. One 4 wheeler, 2 men and 2 big 250 lb hogs. He though for a minute and said, well I guess I need to go get the trailer because ain't no way we can load on wheeler. Off he goes back to camp, I tell him I'll just stay here and wait. When he left I got to thinking. Here you are barefooted in the middle of nowhere with wild hogs all around. I say to myself, self you have no way to defend yourself if one of those things come out. I'm too old to fight and out of shape to run. So I just make my way to where and old deer stand is. At least I can climb up away from them. Well he finally get back with trailer. We drag them on and take off to camp after throwing 3rd pig away that was crippled. Offload and wash the stinking things off. He says well there are your 2 hogs. I'm thinking what am I going to do with 2 hogs. Ok, hogs loaded and I head back home. Got home and I couldn't get my electric winch to work. Now what you going to do big boy, 2 hog and no way to lift up to clean. Wife wouldn't let me in house all muddy and stinky. So I took a cold hose shower, went in and cleaned up. Finally decided to bring to processor, that about all I could do. Moral of story, get details before taking off and wear proper clothes. Oh I told my brother to please give a little notice next time because I sure wasn't prepared for this.

Didn't think about any pictures. Phone would have gotten destroyed if I'd had it with me anyway.
