Thread: HOI Crappie Club Lake Evergreen Tournament results

Hello All,

What an interesting day. The sun played pick-a-boo all day. The winds were constant at about 10-15mph. The Boy Scouts breakfast smelled great, even clear across the lake. The air temps weren’t bad for early spring and the water temps were pretty consistent throughout the lake, 55 degrees or so. Water clarity was a factor. Closer we got to the inlet the murkier the water got. As for the fishing, it was a mixed bag. Had some teams bring in a 7 fish limit and others got skunked. Spider rigging seemed to be the dominating technique that won the tournament.

We had an awesome turnout and those that made it out got some freebies from Charlie Brewer Crappie Slider company, got to purchase some great products from Duck Creek Beard Company, and got to participate in several raffles. Duck Creek Beard Company raffled off a RTIC 22 ounce tumbler that looked awesome, and HOI Crappie Club raffled off a 2 piece Crappie rod. I apologize, I didn’t get the names of the raffle winners.

Next tournament is also a points tournament on Sangchris Lake May 20th. See you there!!!

As for the tournament results. We had 5 teams weigh fish.
1st Place- Dan Whitecotton and Brent Whitecotton – 4 lbs. 12 ounces
2nd Place- Cody Bachman and Adam Merritt- 4 lbs. 1.6 ounces
3rd Place- Jeremy Stoddard and Dustin Harper- 4 lbs. 0.1 ounces

Big Fish- Cody Bachman and Adam Merritt- 1 lbs. 3 ounces.

All three top placed teams brought a 7 fish limit to the scales, and it was close. Less than 12 ounces (3/4 lb.) separated first place and third place. One bigger fish in anyone’s basket would have changed the results.

I’d like to thank all the sponsors and all the competitors. It was a great day despite the weather and torrential rain in the week leading up to the tournament.
