Tournament is this Saturday on Clinton. I will have blank registration forms at the ramp. You must fill out both sides, one is for the IDNR and the other for us. New rules we must follow this year. Registration starts at 6.30 am and the tournament starts at 7 am. Cash only.

We don't have membership dues and all of our tournaments are open to the public. Don't be embarrassed by your gear, boat, or skills. We have regulars that seldom win, but any given tournament can be won by anybody. I typically have the smallest and oldest boat/motor on the lake. I'm the last one to my spot. My wife doesn't think I catch fish, however I have been in the prize money a few times. Shhhhh.... haha

    Questions, please post up.

Going to be a great year.

    Hello All,

The August 29th HOI Crappie Club tournament will be on Snakeden Hollow near Victoria Illinois. This is our first time on this lake, pre-fishing shows a healthy population of Crappie. Tournament hours are 7am-12:30pm. This lake has a single lane boat ramp, please plan accordingly.

The lake also has a 5 fish creel limit per person, we are still planning on a 7 fish limit. I recommend a partner for this one.

    Questions, please ask.

    Hello All,

They did it. The Papermouth team of Mike and Pat Brockhouse were victorious!!!

It was hot and humid, a typical summer day. The Crappie were finicky and elusive. Marking crappie was not the issue, enticing them to take your lure/bait was a major obstacle. Seemed like the Crappie had lockjaw. Most teams did manage to bring a limit to the scales, however only one team can be declared the winner and this time it went to our beloved husband and wife team. Rumor has it they will be at the HOI Crappie Club meeting Thursday to share their story. I didn’t hear anything about snakes in the boat this time out, but who knows. Maybe they made peace with the snakes and that was the key to their victory. Come out to the meeting and find out.

1st Place- Mike and Pat Brockhouse- 2 lbs. 11.2 ounces.
2nd Place- Dan Whitecotton and Brent Whitecotton- 2 lbs. 1.9 ounces.
3rd Place- Tim Hanauer and Dan Williamson- 2 lbs. 0.4 ounces.

Big Fish- Pat made Mike pay the fee to enter and it paid off. Mike and Pat Brockhouse 9.6 ounces.

Season is winding down. One Tournament to go. September 19 and 20 at Clinton Lake, launch from West Side ramp. This is a two day tournament with a fish fry on Sunday after day two. Come on out and have a good time, fish a little, swap fish stories at the fish fry, and enjoy some great folks company. A covered dish to share at the fish fry is always welcome. Hope to see you there.
