Hello All,
HOI Crappie Club tournament schedule for 2014.
We meet Thursday night and decided on the 2014 HOI Crappie Club tournament schedule.
March 29- Clinton Lake- Mascoutin Ramp
April 19- Banner Marsh- Main Access Ramp Shovel Lake- we changed the lake from Johnson to Shovel (entrance closest to the town of Banner. We will have someone at the Main access to direct competitors to the correct ramp. Due to the change of lakes, we will also start a half hour later and finish a half hour later. Tournament 7:30-1pm. This half hour shift is to accommodate those going to the Main Ramp and those providing directions. We are changing lakes due to the recommendation of DNR.
May 31- Lake Evergreen- Main Ramp
June 21- Dawson Lake- Main Ramp
July 12- Lake Evergreen- night tournament- White Oak Ramp
Aug 23- Lake Storey or Dawson Lake- early morning tournament- Lake TBD.
Sep 20-21 or 27-28- Clinton Lake- Date TBD

Hello All,
Due to the recommendation of Banner DNR we have switched the tournament from the Main Entrance to the entrance closest to the town of Banner. Shovel lake. We will have a couple of committee members at the Main Entrance to send competitors to Shovel Lake. We will start at 7:30am, half hour past our usual time. This will give those who come to the Main Lake time to get to the correct lake and give the committee members time to get to Shovel lake as well. We will end at 1pm. Banner is a 25hp limit.

Hello All,
There is a triathlon on May 31st at the Lake Evergreen main ramp. We will be launching and returning to the White Oak ramp. Note that the south end of the lake by the main ramp is closed to all boaters for the swimming competition, plan your Crappie fishing accordingly. We will begin the tournament at 7:30 am. This gives those that don't get the word and show up at the main ramp time to get to and launch from the White Oak ramp.
In summary.
May 31st, 2014 Evergreen lake Crappie tournament will begin at 7:30 am from the White Oak ramp. This ramp serves the primitive campsites on the other side of the lake and is the closest ramp to the damn.
Just an FYI- I just spent 4 days fishing Lake Shelbyville and the Crappie are on FIRE. They are in full spawn mode, even with this last round of weather.

Last tournament of the year September 20 and 21 at Clinton Lake.
We are launching from Mascoutin Campground ramp. Tournament is from 7:00 am to 12:30 pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
Tournament Fees are increased to $30 per team total for both days and $10 for Big Fish per day. Big Fish is optional.
End of season Fish Fry on Sunday after the tournament at Mascoutin Shelter.
This is an open tournament. All are invited. Rules, regulations, and an entrance form can be found on Larrysfishinghole.com, under Area Tournament Dates and Results (left hand side, scroll down). We have blank entrance forms at the tournament as well. We are low key, its about the friends, and crappie. We expect sportsmanship and honor amongst the competitors. We have father/daughter teams, grandparent/grandchild teams, husband/wife, friends, singles, etc.
