That was good fortune. I saw some folks on a windy day barely making headway with a TM that's almost out of battery and kinda figure what's up. Ask if they need a tow, they declined. It's a long trip with a TM. You were smiled on.
Clints post reminded me of a trip long ago. we had run 10 /12 miles up the lake fishing a tournament as we rounded the bend by the last ramp the lower unit froze up and busted a gear. we tried all we could to get back. close to weigh in a boat came out of the river and stopped. happens the guys were fishing the same tourney we were. I got a ride with them to the weigh in. I got my truck and went to the other ramp where my partner had trolled to the ramp. got loaded and I don't know what we would have done if those guys hadn't stopped.
