Thread: Where to crappy fish in N. Ga?

Hello Rob, Welcome to Georgia crappie.com. We are happy to have you on the Georgia board. I live in Savannah, That is in south east georgia so I can't help you much but we have some good anglers that do live in central and north Georgia,Hopefully they will see your post and help you out. I have been out of commision for a while with a cast on my right leg, But it is gone now , Thank the Lord and I can get back to fishing. hey jimmy, how is the crappie fishing down in Sav. I will be there in March at Ft Stewart. I do alot of trolling, any good lakes?

Hello Drill Instructor, Good to hear from you! The ponds at ft. Stewart are stocked with crappie. Also the ogeechee river between ft. Stewart and Savannah has crappie, put in at highway 204 at morgans bridge and go up river. If you would like I can send you a map of ft. Stewart with all of the ponds on it. Hi Rob, JimmyS, Drill Instructor. Been fishing north Lake Lanier for the past couple months. Out of Clarks Bridge Park. Been going out early and catching some small Crappie, Bass, Bream etc. When it starts getting hot (about 10:30) the bite stops.
Tried night fishing under Clarks Bridge on Sat night of the 7th. Caught 5 small crappie, small white bass and a small stripper. The water temp was too hot, around 85 degrees.
Still new at Crappie fishing so I'm still experimenting with different baits. Catch most of them on minnows.
The boat traffic is not too bad if you go out early. Just have to watch the paper for rowing competitions. Clarks Bridge Park is where the Olympic Rowing competition was held and they still have some competitions there.

HOW IS THE FISHING ON THE TALLAPOOSA RIVER. i CROSS THAT RIVER ON HIGHWAY 280 AND THE WATER IS SO PRETTY I JUST GOTTA TRY IT AT LEAST ONCE.

I have not fished in the Tallapoosa river so I can't help you much there but I do know what you mean about that dark water, I love it too. It realy can grow some large river red breast. I love to fish around the logs and stumps in the river and watch that cork go out of sight. Hope you get to go and if you do let us know how you do. And again welcome. www.allatoona.com used to be a good site, but apparently a bill didn't get paid. Anyways, try a search on Allatoona Lake , north of Atlanta. Real pretty lake with predictable waterways and cover.
