    Default COMBO TROLLING OCONEE 5/4/23

Jim and I combo trolled yesterday on Lake Oconee. The water temperature was 67 degrees when we started and 69 degrees when we rolled up at the end of the day. We were trolling over timber and there were plenty of fish. I was trolling double 1/16 oz under spins tipped with Charlie Brewer Slider Grubs or Southern Pro Curly Tails. Jim also tipped with the same on the pushing rods. The early bite was the best and the bite slowed as soon as the sun started getting higher. We caught 20-25 fish 10.5 inches or better and kept 14 fish 11 inches or better. We fished mid lake for the first time this spring. Get there early, when the bite slows move to another patch of timber. I guess it's kinda like early morning turkey hunting. When the turkeys stop gobbling just stay in the woods and be patient. That's my 2 cents.
