    Default Blackshear 4-6-21 and 4-7-21

Fished the last two days, caught ALOT of small crappie, but managed a few keepers, catfish are starting to heat up, only going to get better.

Water Temps are 66 in the morning to 71 in the afternoon, water looks good south of the railroad trestle, heavy stained north of it. Crappie are scattered and were biting anything with blue in it.

Plus everybody and their brother was out on the water jet skiing and pleasure boating...I guess folks dont work anymore. Lake was stirred up good by 2 pm and shut down fishing.

Tough fishing, but I got enough for a few fish taco's and to fry up, and it beat working.

And if you don't have a Millennium seat yet, get one! They are super comfortable for all day fishing.

    4-6-21 catch

Some mighty fine eating you’ve got there. Oconee was the same way with boats and jet skis everywhere. Parking lots full and this was on a Wednesday. I know it’s spring break for some but I hope this isn’t a prelude for the rest of the year.

Dutch I was on Blackshear Tuesday myself, wish I had run into ya. Was there mainly making sure boat run ok and did some bream fishing early in the day then about 2-2:30 was going to shoot some docks. The first dock I came to I broke one of my old favorite dock shooting rods. Packed up with a mess of bream and went home. Thanks for the info about the seats.

I couldnt catch a keeper bream to save my life Wednesday. At Blackshear...crappie I can catch, catfish I can catch...big bream? Nope...All I catch are small ones, great for bait, not so great to eat.

Can I ask what part of the lake were you fishing and were you trolling or gigging trees? I stayed in Cedar except when I went to shoot docks. The bream I kept were not that great a couple were nice size but the others were on the small size. I have a friend, his mom is 100 years old and she likes small bream so I gave her a mess. She called me today and said they were the best she ever ate, made it worth the trip.

I was bream fishing Cedar, Lincoln and Boy scout. I caught probably 40 or 50, 3 finger bream, threw them all back except 10 to use as cut bait. I really want to catch a mess of hand size 'gills to eat. Its my second favorite fish to eat.
