Default Some nice crappie from nearby...

Lathem reservoir. Never stocked with crappie - but they are in there, and big, too. Mostly I cruise around and cast, cast, cast some more, and look on electronics, and when I find them, they are big. Last week I caught a bunch, and all were 11" or bigger, typically 13"-14" (I only kept 6). I let 2 go I know were just over 2 lbs. Very pretty lake, deep and clear, mostly, with eagles, kingfishers, deer, and wildlife all about, no gas motors allowed. I live fairly near, and have been fishing it a lot. I go out and find any kind of tree, brush, etc around 15'-20', and mark it on GPS. I have been able to put together a milk run of places I look first. This is from last week. I use a NuCanoe kayak, with trolling motor to get around, and I have a Garmin graph on it with Livescope. Some screen shots:

Think I'll head over and fish tomorrow! Gate opens at 7:30. Lake closes at 5 PM, I mean, you have to be loaded and GONE by 5 PM.

I remember fishing this clear lake years ago before I updated my electronics and was humbled here. Beautiful clear lake with flooded timber that looked fishy. This place was the first time I saw someone spiderrigging and they had some slabs in the cooler. Enjoy the tranquility of the place and tight lines.

If you ever want some company, let me know. I’ve been dying to fish that lake. I have an electric only boat. Autochart live is excellent for these places. Almost have the lake in Dahlonega mapped out.
Fishing is like pizza.......Even when it's not that good, it's still pretty good!

I'm ready to go pretty much anytime, though I will be doing some deer hunting down south off and on. PM sent.
