    Default Blackshear

Im headed to Blackshear Friday for the first time. Im been reading past articles about boat ramps but can't find them on Google maps. I'm thinking about trying cedar creek but don't see a boat ramp. Can someone give some advice please. I am going to stop by Flint river outdoors first to get advice on jig colors.

Cedar Creek has a decent ramp. I normally put in at the Marina. Not to far of a ride from there. Wind and traffic can be brutal.

Veterans State Park has 2 ramps, with the back ramp being the best one, its the one I launch at 90% of the time. ts about a 10 minute (if that) run to Cedar. I never knew (or have seen) a public ramp at Cedar. And Blackshear can be brutal with high winds and or pleasure boat traffic.

I will be there Friday, give me a hollar if you see me out on the water.

    Caught these 2 Fridays ago.

Loron Williams Boat Ramp is what most of us use to go to Cedar creek.

Thats the one right across from the dam, right? About the same run from there to Cedar as from the park to Cedar.
I use the park, since I have a pass and its closer for me.

Yes. We use it because its closer for us like the park is for you. About the same distance I guess. You guys are more expert on the lake than me since I'm relearning it after all these years. However, I'm about to put-up the boat until Dec. Time to start the old deer plots. We loaded feeders like week.

I hope my part comes in tomorrow or I'll be sitting at the house. I'll put in at the state park if it comes in. My big boat stays in Eufaula and I hit a stump with my stick steer Saturday. Carter's in Adel told me it would be in by 2:00 tomorrow. Name: 20200526_085724.jpg

Wow. You nailed that stump. I bet that got your attention.

Got to be careful in Blackshear as well. Especially on the North of the 280 bridge and the west side of the lake in areas. Most maps are well marked with the hazard areas.
