    Default GREAT DAY ON OCONEE

Jim and I fished Lake Oconee yesterday and had our best day this year. The water temperature was 57 when we started and got up to 61 degrees. We started in a cove and began catching small fish. We were about to move to another spot when we caught a couple of 12 inch fish. We decided to make another pass and caught another keeper. After that it was on all day. We fished in water 12-25 feet and most of the fish were in the 8-15 foot range. I was rigged with double 1/16 oz jigs on about half the pulling rods. On the rest of the rods I was pulling double 1/16 oz jigs below a 1/8 oz sinker. That is 1/4 oz total. We caught a lot of fish on those rods. At the end of the day we had 40 fish in the 11-14.5 inch range. We kept all the fish.

My nephew and I had a great day on Oconee also.and the weather was awesome. We caught 35 big crappie in 6-25 feet and they were deep ,shallow and in between. We threw back a lot of fish. I havent fished Oconee in a couple of years and I use to fish it a lot and I have never caught this many small crappie there. But with that being said the 35 we did keep were good quality fish.

That was a great trip and vid.
I was fishing Richland side and I think I should have added some weight to my doubles like you did.
