    Default LAKE OCONEE 2/17/20

Jim and I fished Lake Oconee yesterday. We had a good day and ended with 13 fish in the 11-14.5 inch range. We kept 10 fish for the skillet and released the 3 biggest fish. The water temperature was 53-55 degrees. We had 3 fish at 12:30. We decided to put the boat back on the trailer and move to another location. We were back on the water at 1:30. The fishing from 1:30 to 3:00 was slow but we managed to catch a few more in the 11 inch range. After 3:00 the big girls came out and the bite got much better. We rolled it up at 4:30 and headed back to Jackson. We combo trolled 1 mph and caught fish on several different colors. The Tennessee Shad, Charlie Brewer white/chart and June Bug were all good patterns. We enjoyed our day on the water. More rain on the way.
I hope you enjoy the video.

Always glad to see your fishing videos and updates. Gonna try and get down to Oconee as soon as the monsoon season lets up a bit.

Monsoon, man you ain't kidding! Tired of it, but I'm going tomorrow anyway. I spent good money on rain gear - might as well use it. As long as there isn't any high wind or lightning. If there is, then I'm out.

Good report!! I also fished yesterday afternoon. I decided to take down a oak tree in the morning which went pretty fast so I loaded up the boat and headed to long shoals ramp. I also found the water to be muddy so after one trolling pass I decided to check out double creek. The water looked good and the large crappie were biting very good. Caught and released 12 fish from a pound to over 11/2 pounds. Also yesterday was a first. I caught a 3 lb striper on the top jig and a 13" crappie on the. Has this ever happened to you? Again great video

Congrats on a good day. I have caught two different species on double jigs. Thanks for watching.
