Probably don't see much about WP because I think most on here live in the central part of the state so Sinclair, Oconee, & Blackshear get the most action.
That is definitely not a bad reflection of WP because it is loaded with crappie. It is my favorite lake and I try to make at least 2 trips per year over there. It isn't known as a trophy fish lake or coolers full of 2 pounders like maybe Clark's Hill or Eufaula, but I have caught many 1.5-2.5 lb fish there over the years. Great lake for numbers (sometimes a lot dinks) with some slabs mixed in.
During the middle of April, expect a lot of people to be on the water and a lot of people fishing on the bank. Especially if the weather is nice.

Plenty of good fish at West Point and the bite really picked up last weekend, 14 to 18 foot deep, double jig set up .6 mph...Good luck!!

I need to get down there and fish that lake. Would like to get into some running white bass, too.
