    Default Oconee 11/06

Fished Oconee for first time this fall. It was a tough day for us. Never could get on the crappie. Wind and bluebird skies are not my favorite conditions to fish in. Started at 7:30 finished at 3:30. WT was 65 @ start, 68 @ end. Long line trolled. Figure with the skies and wind fish were tight on cover or on bottom. Ended day with 5 11-12" crappie, 2 bass and 15 hybrids, all released. Had 7 poles went off at one time, all hybrids in the 1-2 lb range. What a mess! Largest hybrid right @ 5lbs.That's a good fight on an 8' wally marshall rod with 6lb test. Still it was great to be back out on the lake. Better days to come!

First 3 hooked up in Lick Creek, main channel, 25' water, out from the house with the fountain. Double on one and single on another. Others came off a point in 27-30' water headed across entrance to Reynolds Cove. Largest came out of Sugar, 20' water.
