    Default Oconee 5/7

First, let me say it was hot(weather), fishing wasn't too bad either. Started out in 18-20' water on flats looking for post spawn fish. 1st fish in boat was 13" female still with eggs.Caught a bunch of small 9 3/4" fish, so left looking for bigger ones. Went to a spot a fellow CDC had told me and caught a ton more small fish with some large females mixed in. Heat was starting to kick in so left there and went back up lake, wind stopped and it really got HOT! Fish were still cooperating so we stuck it out. Caught probably 100 total or more, kept 26, nothing under 10". WT got to 80 by end. Fished 15-30' water on flats next to river channels and mouths of coves. All in all a great day, but that sun really kicked my tail. Bit most every color we were pulling with best being John Deere Green, Tennessee shad, Lemon Meringue. Double 1/16. If you go now, take plenty of water!!!
