    Default West Point 3/26

Had a couple good days at west point before the rain came in on Monday night though... Stayed at Holiday campground
Wasn't able to find the fish first day. After talking with camp neighbors, they said they found a few with minnows on deep structure, 20 - 25 feet range.

Finally found some in skinny water on day 2....
Water temps were at 60-62 everywhere I put the boat. U
sed a blue/black jig with a couple sprays of slab sauce and cast to the bank. I"m pretty sure the first one was really 7 pounds with the fight he put up... scale proved me wrong @ 1.5 lbs though... guess the little spotted bass were an extra... they were fun to fight into the boat but I thought they needed a few more years to grow...

Even managed to find a teenager that was willing to grin after the temps dropped into the high 50's... she was chucking fish pellets at a duck though... luckily the duck shook it off after eating his fill....

I will tell them at work you improved to 2 fish from the 1 you caught last year. So shallow and stay shallow this week!

Looks like a good trip congratulations. We stay at whitetail Sunday-wensday. We killed them shallow and deep. Only thing that didn't work was trolling.

I guess the cold on Monday and the forcast for rain on Tuesday didn't change them up? Between the young'un complaining about the weather and the wife complaining about everything... it was time to pack it up....

did you fish yellowjacket or were you in wehadkee too?
