Dad lives in Horseshoe Beach...which is a small town bwtween Stienhatchee and Cedar Key. Great trout fishing in that area.

Fished out of Steinhatchee many many times. Usually go in October. Great trout, mackerel, and redfish fishing. Throw in some bonus flounder! Love catching the sand trout. No limit on those and when you find one, fill the cooler! I ALMOST feel bad taking so many but they taste great and it's a fish per cast. We usually count how many casts that don't catch a fish. We always find them in the "potholes". That's wear there's grass and the potholes are sand. Almost looks like a spawning nest but spread out a lil. Gotta get back down there!
Fishing is like pizza.......Even when it's not that good, it's still pretty good!

Love them sandtrout myself, finding a hole full of sandtrout has saved many a poor day fishing. There is some great redfish fishing behind pepperfish key.

Well it was a long weekend. Fished for a couple hours Friday and caught 1. Friday night we fished off the dock and caught 2. While I was at the dock my wife and son stayed home because it was his bedtime. Well he started throwing up and continued all night, all day Saturday, and Sunday. I never even put my boat in. One of my nieces also caught the bug Friday night. My mom and dad fished with one niece and my grandpa and brother fished with the other niece and caught 44 Saturday. Saturday night my brother and I went back to the dock and caught 48. We had a grand total of 95. On the 3 hour drive home the big hit me and it was a long Sunday night.

Hope you feel better soon. I’ve been sitting in hospital with my wife since Friday. She’s having a heart Cath as we speak.
