    Default Shooting docks on Sinclair

Anybody do much dock shooting on Sinclair? I’ve fished the past two weekends with minimal success. Is it too early for this method or am I just not holding my mouth right. Don’t need to know specific docks, but any tips would be greatly appreciated. The fish I have caught have been under docks in 10-13’ of water on acid rain 1/16 pink/white head. Most caught in Crooked Creek. My 6 y/o son has been my fishing partner.

try a 1/32 or 1/24th head and a dark body with a chartrues tail slower fall = more bites

Everyone has there preferred style, I like chaneal or hair jugs 1/32. Find docks with structure, close to the channel or deep water. Seems to me that the deeper docks hold the most fish. With that said there are exception to every rule. Fish each dock from several different angles. Hope this helps.

I like 1/32 with florescent line and watch for the thump.

A 1/16 Hal fly White/green/white has been a killer for me for the past thirty years on Sinclair. I'm tying up a pink/black/pink 1/32 that has really come on strong lately. You really have to pay attention and feel the thump. Quick hook set before they spit it out.

Wht/grn/wht has been my go to for about as long. I use it dipping tree tops too. rd/grn/wht or yellow works well too.

Be a line watcher. When your line goes slack, set the hook!

That was the hardest part for me to learn. Using 1/32 oz slow falling jigs you have to watch the line like a hawk for the slightest twitch. Many bites you will never feel a thing. Now dipping into brush piles you usually get that "thump" we all love but on slow retrieves around a dock or tree top those rascals are sneaky.
