    Default Lake Oconee

Started at daylight and before sunrise it was like playing bumper boats . there was a lot medium size fish so after fishing I decided to check on fishing some new waters. The next place I fished had some really nice slabs. The fish were holding on main lake points These slabs were caught in 10 ft of water longing double 1/16 at 1.2 mph and color did not matter. I just cleaned the fish and 10 were 14" long and 2 were 13" . I am so impressed with the size of these fish.

I planned on fishing but didn't get my new boat tricked out in time. Hopefully it will be ready for Crescent next week.

Great catch Jim, I knew you would do well once you started fishing a little more. Just like being at your brothers lake.

This lake is a little strange for me. One trip I'll catch some slabs and when I go back to the same place the fish have changed size to dinks. Always searching.

Jim b, I dont like fishing where there are so many boats either so usually I move on looking for better places. Way back when I was young a GOOD crappie fisherman once told me to save my hotspots and always be looking for new places to catch 'em. If that fails then you can always go to your hotspots to catch a few. He never tried to fish a spot out, he would just catch a few and move on to the next spot. He wa a good fisherman with some great ideas.

Nice cooler of fish. I'd take a mess of bigger fish over a cooler full of little to medium fish. Congrats.
