Good report. Anytime spent on the water is good time.

Last year at this time the bite was good up until about 9:30 a.m. This year seems to be a replay. Jim and I fished Lake Oconee yesterday from 7:30-3:30. We caught 5 good fish in the first hour and only two fish the rest of the day. We combo trolled as usual. I thought yesterday would be good because there was no sun to push the fish deeper. However, I proved to myself for umpteenth time that I can not think like a fish. We found tons of fish scattered and bunched up in the timber. They just would not cooperate. The good news is that 5 of the fish we caught were 13 inches or better. The other two fish were 11 inches. We did have a good day on the lake and talked with several other fishermen who said the same thing. " They quit biting around 10:00". At least that made us feel better. I know it will improve towards the middle of the month. My advice is to get there early and if they quit biting at mid morning then it is time to go home.
