    Default West Point - HELP

Okay, I believe that I can catch fish, but somehow 2018 has been a tough year! Not one time all year have I caught a limit of crappie - most has been like 10, and that was during the spring when it should be easier!!

Yesterday, I tried pushing, pulling, dock shooting, deep, shallow, mid-depth. I was in Wolf creek, along the river, back in coves, loaded the boat up and went put back in at Sunny point, jig fished structure, used all types of jigs, some tipped with minnows, some with a crappie nibble, and some with slab sauce. Not one single crappie!! Only fish I caught was stripped bass - probably caught 10 of those.

Without giving up your hot spots or coordinates, can someone please offer some advice before I sell off all my fishing equipment?? Man am I stumped right now!! If you don't want to post to the world, I would welcome private messages too!! I'd like to get back out this coming weekend. I see great reports out of Oconee - am I just fishing the wrong lake?

Thanks, and really appreciate any advice!!

No, good reports (GON)out of WP also. Pushing minnows or jig/ minnow combos on structure should catch fish.

I only fish West point on our yearly spring break trip, we smoked them then. It took me a few trips to get the hang of west point, it can be a hard lake to figure out. I fish the lower end and there's not many docks that hold them. We fish lay downs and spawning banks in the spring. I can tell you they get line shy because the water is clear. I use small low vis line(4lb test). You can just about forget fishing midday we catch most early morning and late afternoon, night time can be really good fishing bridges and in springtime fish the boat ramps with lights on the water. We've had good luck put out brush also. I wouldn't know where to start right now but this spring give me a PM and I'll help.

I appreciate all the replies and offers! I must be fishing during lows every time I go out - LOL! Rest assured, I will not give up. Every catch is truly a bonus!! Just being out on the water is blessing!!
