Prayers to all who were in harms way. I've seen the coverage, showing the total coastal devastation at ground zero and how far Hurricane Michael's destruction reached far inland. It is so sad to see those who lost everything... whose futures are so wrought with problems and challenges for many weeks, months or many months to come. We all have seen just how Mother Nature is certainly no joke... and how she don't care who is in the way or how inconvenient she makes it when she shows her uglier side. It's amazing what power these things bring with them: Heck, we are 670 miles from Mexico Beach Florida here in Central NC. ...and we had 60 mph winds and several inches of rain as it crossed directly over us.

    Hi Everyone,

Just checking in, home front, sort of looks poorly but no one got hurt, we had most (5out of 7) grand kids , our son and 1 daughter.
We had 42 trees blown down and only 5 went on the roof and 2 are in the pool.
Week later things are looking much better -- fishing boat was not touch!!!!!!!!

We are still with no power. Power company said today that 80-90 percent would have power by Sunday and the other 10-20 percent could be up to 14 more days. Powerline are still down all around me. I know I’m ready for power, cooler weather, and to catch some specks!
