Default Crappie fishing near Columbus, GA

My husband and I are from Florida and will be here in Columbus Georgia for the next 5 months while he oversees construction on a new restaurant. We are heading home next weekend to pick up our boat to have up here with us and would like to do a little crappie fishing.

Just wondering what lakes around Columbus area would be worth a try.

    Thanks!

Lake Eufaula south of Columbus and Lake Harding to the North...both are excellent crappie lakes. I fish both regularly, so PM when ya'll get ready to go and I will give ya'll some areas that produce fish.

Just saw the other posts about Lake Harding also. Thanks Thunder, Papasage and Dutch for the info. Dutch I will definitely PM you. Going next weekend to get the boat and hope to fish the following weekend.

Lived in Columbus for 3 years stationed there in the Air Force. Harding was my favorite lake. Caught biggest crappy I've every caught and have it mounted. 3 pound monster😉
