    Default BATTERY QUESTION

While running a 12 volt TM system I always used the series 29 battery. Now that I have a 24 volt system I am wondering if the series 27 batteries would give just as good service as the 29's? I'm considering the change to give me a little more room in the battery compartment.

I get about 8 hrs (depending on how much I have to fight the wind) on my series 27 battery (MarineMaxx). My 29 series (MarineMaxx) I get about 10 hrs. I use my 29 to start the day and change them if needed. Usually the 29 sereis gets me through a day of trolling. I run a Powerdrive V2 55lb thrust.

Thanks Dutch. I went ahead and got a 27 to go along with the 29.

I am going to convert my front livewell in a battery box and parallel 2 29 series so I dont have to change out batteries.

That works. I've got a switch in mine for that purpose.

If you are running 2 27 batteries and run them dead in one day you are doing something. I have been running the same 2 wally word batteries for 6 years and have yet to run them dead in one day. I fish about 8 to 10 hours and have an 80lb thrust terrova.

I have the same TM and have not run the batteries down in a day either.

I put a pair of 31's up front; they'll last all day in a strong current. Academy Sports and Sam's Club usually have a fair price on those batteries.

Yes sir, that is exactly what I'm doing. I kicked myself fighting wind today for not doing last year.
