Thread: Lanier?

don`t see meany reports on lanier that is a deep water lake guss no one crappie fish it much . would love to hear some reports from there .west point is a lake with some reports .

Lanier is heavily fished for crappie. Lots of different techniques. Maybe some of the Lanier guys will give you some help. A lot of docking shooting is done on Lanier.

Been a member for 4 months...

Nice group of fellers, but they're kinda quiet about "katchin'."

Got my Helix 10 mounted on the console (no cables run yet,) and tryin' to figure out how I'm gonna mount that monster Helix 12 at the bow. Got the regular bow mount from Precision sonar, thinking I shoulda got the Mega mount. This thing looks YUGE, and it's quite heavy as well.

I get these all hooked up & runnin', I'll be "on the hunt!"

I did a search on Lanier. Newest "report" was last year, and it was the only one for '16...

Also read that folk "held back" because they felt the general public were lurkin' and not contributing. I can understand that to a point, but really?! I can't get a "Lanier color" suggestion?!

Wish I could help you but I have never fished lanier. I plan on trying when I retire next year.

I have never fished Lanier, but I have fished these lakes regular, Blackshear, Eufaula, Oconee, Sinclair, Tobosofkee, and consistantly catch fish with blue shiner, wiess lake killer, blue/black/chartruese, acid rain, john deere, and firetiger. The hottest colors the last for years for me on all these lakes are blue shiner and wiess lake killer with a pink head...may not be the case on Lanier, but it will give a start point to figure out what the crappie want.

Dark shooting is king. Dark colors in the morning then switch to chart, bubble gum, or white when sun is up. To be honest I have caught them on just about every color combo I have created. Bigger fish on the south end but are harder to locate due to the size of creeks and water clarity. Try up the river arms. The further north I go the better the fishing. That being said I don't fish lanier like I use to because it does not set up well for my preferred style of fishing.
