    Default Monday Oconee Report 12/7/15

I took my youngest son Matt and his friend Kendall Rhine to lake Oconee today. The water temperature was 55-56 degrees when we got to the lake and almost 59 degrees when we left. We long line trolled 10 rods. Matt was in the front with 6 rods and Kendall was in the rear with 4 rods. The fishing was slow most of the day and we only had 14 fish at 3:00 when we got to our final stop of the day. We caught 8 more fish at our final stop and finished the day with 22 nice crappie and we quit at 4:00. Two of today's fish were 11 inches and one was 10.5 inches. The rest of the fish were 12 inches + and the biggest was 13.5 inches. Matt is wearing the Green hat and Kendall the UGA hat. Oh, BTW. Matt caught a nice trash fish I mean striper on a 16 foot trolling rod and landed him without tangling up the other lines. I think they enjoyed their day of fishing. I know I did.

Matbe not! With this mild trend coming in and no real shockers....It should last awhile longer....2-3 years ago when it was mild in December, I was killing em in pre spawn type water depths and structure.... Maybe we'll ease into winter this year! Last year was rough!

Ducks in Arkansas for me for the next week.....Ya'll don't catch em all!
