Arrived at Tussahaw at 7am this morning and fished until 3pm. Water temp was 49.9 in Moccasin Gap this morning. Trolled from Moccasin Gap up to the dam and into the creek across from the main boat ramp. Trolled 8 poles with double 32oz jigheads with curly tails and tipped with live minnow. When I left the water temp had risen to 53 and I was marking more fish this afternoon.
Caught about 6 crappie, all females with eggs. Also caught a very nice yellow perch and a bass that was 6.4 lbs on a 12' crappie rod. Couldn't mark any active schools or suspended fish today. Pretty slow but a beautiful day on the water. I think tomorrow will be better with the water temps coming up a little.
Anyone else have luck with crappie on T-Haw?
I wish I could fish The Tussahaw Res. but I live in Butts county and I can't.
