Finally a nice weather day and tournament day come together! Pretty chilly early in the morning at 32 degrees, but the winds were light and very little fog. The fish bite was good for most everyone, except for the normal 2 lbrs that Oconee is famous for. Water surface temps had cooled down to about 68 - 70 and the water was light stained to clear. As you can see on the complete weigh-in results, average weights were very close from both sides of the lake. A lot of water was covered during the tournament day as well as days previous from pre-fishing. Most of the congregated aggressive fish were holding in or just above standing timber or manmade brush piles. A few docks still held decent fish too.

Congratulations to the husband/wife team of Tim and Cathy Langham who weighed in the heaviest seven crappie at 9.60 lbs. They pitched black/blue/black Taser Jigs with and without minnows to brush piles up the Appalachee River. They didn't catch a fish after 11:30 and moved over to the Beaver Dam area with no improvement. They were followed by Lamar Young and Justin Churchwell with 9.44 lbs. for second place. This was also enough weight for Lamar and Justin to take over and win the 2013 Team Points Championship by just 1 point! They fished thick standing timber near Sugar Creek with Taser Jigs and Rozier's Jigs tipped with minnows in white color combos. 3rd place was taken by Robert Sellers and Tommy Sellers who weighed in 9.41 lbs. They fished several areas, but focused on 25 FOW channel ledges with timber and focused on 10-15' down with a variety of jigs tipped with minnows. Big Fish was weighed in by Kim Maxwell with a 1.97 lbs. slab.

Thank you to all those who came out to participate and to those who came to watch. Looking forward to the Classic on December 7th at Lake Blackshear. Going to be a one day shoot out to see who can put it all together. The fish should be stacked up along the channel and timber flats by then all up and down the lake.

Thank you to Sav-A- Lot BP for being awesome hosts. They always have what the anglers need and a lot of good info and good conversation too. The ladies always have a smile on their face when we show up early in the morning ready for breakfast! Also, a big thank you to Crappie.com, B'n'M, Jiffy Jigs, EZT Pole Perch, Crappie Town & Bobby Garland Baits, Ocmulgee Timber, and Five Star Automotive Group.
